Battling Against The Sea

Combining with Kilu's akka's marriage, we happened to go to places nearby Mayavaram. Incidentally I remembered Tharangampadi once quoted by my uncle having a dilapidated dutch fort. I was so interested in visiting that place though many weren't convinced with it. Since we all had so much time after marriage ceremony got over, we went to Tharangampadi as I was too particular in going there [;)]. The old fort was broken and only a few remains were left in the sea. It was so nice to see the sea waves hitting it and rising high in the air. As usual, I was left with the camera with all others preparing a port-folio for their marriage [:P]. This is one of those rare moments I captured with Prakash [centre right] almost getting vanished, Sribalaji [centre left] getting drenched and Sushil [centre] awaiting his turn to experience the thrill. As always, I was with the camera till the end and couldn't take any photo for my port-folio. My dear lady-love, dont worry. Lot more places to visit, and lot more snaps to take... Hopefully with me in it.. [;)] [;)]

"Respected Ladies and Gentlemen.." - I can never ever give a speech with such an opening in front of even some 10 odd people due to stage fear [:(]. Atleast places like these help me give lectures for hours as I dont fear about those unseen audience!!! [:) :)]

Somnathpur.. some remote village at about 38 km from Mysore!! No one knows that there is such a marvelous Channakesava temple inside that village! The road to this village is much worse!! But all the pain in riding will go away when you see this temple.. Such a calm place.. well sculptured temple.. so pleasing!! OMG!! What else do you need on earth??

This very picture reminds me of what happened 4 years back. When had been there to this very place with family, I had a dubba Canon Rs. 1000 camera. My uncle had a Rs. 12000 worth analog Canon EOS camera. We both were taking snaps. I wasn't pleased with the crowd there then.. :( Waited for 15 mins to have no people obstructing the photo and proper sunlight to come!! Atlast took a snap!!! When my uncle brought all the developed and printed snaps back home.. he told me.. "dei.. eppadi da?? i cudnt take such a snap in my 12k camera.. u have taken such a nice shot in almost low lighting, with perfect framing with that dubba camera!! simply superb!!" [he he he.. collar thooki vittukkaraen!!].. this started my interest in photography actually!! Even the above photo is not as good as the one i took then!!

As its my practice to take photos of new gadgets I buy in different angles, this time its the musical Keyboard!! Recently bought for my sister!! I couldn't take more shots of this as I was running late to get back to work!! This photo is special though for its the first photo I took and also a better photo compared to others. I like the low lighting in this photo.. With light reflections over the black keys giving more impact!! More photos of the same in the days to come.. [:)]

Dancing Lights!!

After a long time, I took out my camera and started playing with it!! [;)]. Some 105 photos in 2 days!! Between 12 and 1 in the night.. In extreme darkness.. left with just my camera and my laptop!! Awesome experience it was!! Started playing with shutter speed!! And started capturing patterns from the blue LED lights in my laptop!! With a shutter speed of 1", I could get amazing patterns as I could shake the camera as much as I can within 1 sec!! This is one such photo!! The specialty here is that the base image, the laptop, remained pretty clear with the lights forming waves over it!! Nice shot.. But still.. Am not convinced!! Need some more perfection!! [:D]. More photos to be uploaded from this collection... !!

Twin Towers

Ernakulam is fully flooded with water!!! That's what I can say... !!! Too many bridges while moving from one place to another... Caught this in my camera while crossing some lengthy bridge!! Could see two electricity transfer towers sprouting from nowhere in the middle of backwaters!!! Awesome it was!!!

On a Rainy Day

On the way back home.. rain has just stopped and I happened to cross 'Sirumalai'. This is near 'Kodai Road', the place where you should alight to go to Kodaikkanal. The moist in the air was so nice that it shone well in the early morning sunlight. I couldn't resist myself from taking snaps. The glass window was too dirty that I couldn't frame the pictures well. This one is a bit convincing though am not satisfied that much. All I like in this is the Sun's rays falling on the newly laid tar road drenched in rain and making it shine.

From the city that is famous for 'Paal kova', the temple tower is also famous!! For it is the tower used in the emblem of Tamil Nadu!! But to say the truth, being from Madurai, this tower aint that beautiful. Except for the height, it has nothing special in it. But Meenakshi Amman temple's South tower, falling short of this by just few feet, has too many statutes.. Too many Gods.. Such a complicated design it is!!! Nice sculptures.. Broad and tall!!! Awesome really it is!!!

During the Industrial Visit, we had a chance to go to Kumarakom! It was a 3-hour ride in a ferry!! Was fine for the first half an hour.. Then started boring as nothing was around us except water on all sides... This is a house about 5 Kms from Allepy!! One man army in the waters!!! Only means of transport to them was boats!! Really awesome thing..!!!

The city was totally calm, giving me enuf time to take such a picture at a popular junction in the city. During these hols i went back home!! I had a chance to go to our house where we lived for 15 years (now we have changed our house..) !! Right from my birth i was there.. Also the house is as old as i'm now... Took out my camera and started taking pictures for a remembrance... And this picture was taken in my room.. Too bright outside.. I used the metering technique to capture the brightness at the window alone.. Ipch.. Finally came out well!! I was wondering on seeing this picture then... Seems to be more accurate for me.. Waiting for the windows to open!! Something like waiting for a good oppportunity in life...

So nice to mushrooms.. Not only for eclogists!! But for me too.. I found these mushrooms near my room.. So nice were those rings!! Spent some time on its beauty and took some snaps..

My friend Siddaarth told me that mushrooms make ecologists happy since they yield protein to the trees.. He explained a lot more concepts behind it!! All i could infer was that the growth of mushroom is a good sign..!!!

A night ride at Mount Road

These 2 photos were taken at Mount Road, few days back, at around 11.30 in the night, while returning after treat... These are streaks of headlight from cars and bikes on the other side of the road.. The reason for such an effect is that I used the night mode for taking the snap!! In the night mode, the aperture speed is slow, taking long time for capture. Since more amount of light falls into the lens and the object is in motion, i got a streak of light!! If i wasnt riding, then there wudn't have been any motion blur giving much more effect to the photo!!

Clouds of anger and hatred

While taking a snap of the mountains near my school (Nagamalai) from the terrace of my house, luckily i got two pigeons sitting in opposite directions. Got a myriad of thoughts on seeing it..

Some of them include..

One is male and the other female for they are of different colours. Of course, male is black as always ( ;) ).
Probably there may caste problems between them like in mankind. (Hope it is not like that!)
Each one may be waiting for their air route to get cleared. (Even there are routes for airplanes. wont birds have one?). Read a RFC of using birds for transfer of data. This thought supports it.
They may be close friends showing their back out of anger.
They may be lovers sitting far-but-near after a terrible fight.
(*) They may be siblings. White is the sister of the black brother!! They may be sitting near-but-far after a terrible quarrel actually for nothing. May be each one expecting the other one to give up their anger and speak. But they themselves not giving up the anger.
This wud be the best of thoughts i got since it was sitting in my house's terrace reminding me of my quarrels with my loving sister.

P.S.: If the two pigeons are sitting after a quarrel then it shud not be the right place since they are sitting on top of my house's terrace at ''Shanthi Sadhan'!!.

(Dedicating this post to two of my friends who arent speaking to me for a long time [one for 3 years and the other for a month and more!] . Hope they give up their anger and speak to me at the earliest!!)

To start my photoblog with God's grace, lemme put the snap of my mom's master piece!! This glass painting was done by my mom in about a month's time. So awesome that i used to stare at it always when i get back home.. Tried enriching the picture by giving more exposure, but lack of tripod resulted only in blurred images... This is the only snap with a good framing i cud take!! Eagerly expecting ur comments abt the painting rather than the snap.....
